Coastal
environment produces a corrosive atmosphere that attacks all types
of constructions. Therefore periods between maintenance works
are shortened. Due to its metallic nature this also applies to
stained glass.
Despite the fact that the window ,from the church ground level,
was apparently “good”, a deeper analysis detected
the corrosive effect on reinforcing bars and lead strips.
The work was influenced by the good condition of the pieces of
glass and the complexity of the framework, and in the tracery
the use of substitute reused glass from other stained glass.
