The
rose window placed over the arch of the apsis at the Seu d'Urgell
cathedral , dating from the 14th century, is the only gothic window
in the Catalan Pyrenees. At the moment of intervention its situation
was critical. Missing lead, inadequate support of the panels,
original glass loss, and a large number of added glasses on successive
restorations.
The successive cleanings reveal the pictoric beauty of a these
highly valuable pieces, where religious figures, apostles, and
a resuscitating Christ coming out of his grave proved how skilled
the ancient craftsmen were.
